busy little bees

kevin and i recently went to san diego to visit a friend of mine, susie. we got there on thurs. night and stayed until tues. morning. susie was a WONDERFUL tour guide and showed us all kinds of really cool things in san diego. it was my first trip EVER to see the ocean. sad, i know. and it was also the first time either of us had ever been to california!

we went to coronado beach sunday morning about 6 am and could see the dolphins playing in the water, jumping up and stuff. it was amazing. we also collected sand dollars and got to see sand dollars that were still alive... they are purple and kinda fuzzy... weird. that day we also walked around the hotel del coronado which is a beautiful piece of history.

we also visited sea world... kevin had never been to sea world before so i thought it was necessary! i touched and fed a sting ray for the first time... it felt weird, but glad i put my big girl panties on and did it. and of course, we saw shamu. it was an exhausting day, but fun none-the-less.

on monday we went on a tour of the aircraft carrier, the Midway. it took all day but was very, very cool. we got to go down into the ship and see where the sailors lived. it's amazing how much nicer the captains quarters are! LOL! the coolest part is that my friend susie was in the navy, and stationed on the aircraft carrier the Reagan, so she knew a lot about the ship and was able to explain things to us that the audio tour didn't. it was a very humbling experience... and i now have even more respect for our military and their families.

to sum it up... i love san diego. i love the beach. i love the ocean. i can't wait to go back. and next time we're going to drive up to LA!!!!

(P.S. - i will post pictures soon!!!)

what a slacker!

I know I have totally been slacking on my blog lately. I keep cooking these awesome things and then I either forget to write down how much of the ingredients I used or forget to take pictures. SO I have not added any new recipes to my list lately. I made this awesome thing I called "Zitisangna" and it was good... but didn't take a picture. I will have to make it again and post it!

Things have been pretty slow around here lately. We went back to Louisiana for a few weeks to visit family and pick up some of our belongings to bring back to Vegas with us.

I am still totally obsessed with the Twilight series.

AND it's hot today. Luckily it's still not humid, so even though the sun is hot, it's not uncomfortable! (like it would be back home)

Well, I won't bore you any longer! LOL Maybe something interesting will happen soon!
